Representatives from Hartpury University and Hartpury College joined around 300 guests on Thursday 20 October 2023 to present an award at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards (SGGBA 2023).
The awards, in partnership with headline co-sponsors Hazlewoods and Willans LLP solicitors, brought together finalists, sponsors and special guests to find out the winners across 22 hotly-contested categories. The winners were revealed by this year's compère, former BBC Radio 4 and BBC Radio Gloucestershire broadcast journalist Faye Hatcher, at the Gloucester South Community Fire and Rescue Station.
Hartpury sponsored the Most Innovative Business of the Year category for the third year running, won by Green Car Depollution. The sponsorship of these awards is a strong example of Hartpury’s support for the local business community.
As the UK's leading supplier of depollution equipment, which decontaminates 'end of life' vehicles ready for recycling, Green Car Depollution has had its most successful 12 months so far, being shortlisted for a range of awards, as well as developing an exciting new opportunity to help depollute 300 million vehicles in India.
In May 2023, it unveiled its first ever range of depollution equipment for electric vehicles, which will help to safely decommission both full electric and hybrid vehicles, capture residual charges and put energy back into the grid.
Hartpury was represented on stage by Stuart Emmerson - Director of Business Development, James Forrester – Head of Sponsorship and Business Engagement, and Nikki Budding - Sponsorship and Business Engagement Officer.
Stuart said: “Congratulations to Green Car Depollution. We commend their dedication, vision and unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation. They thoroughly deserve this accolade, given their forward-thinking approach and ability to combine environmental sustainability with cutting-edge technology, ultimately revolutionising the car depollution industry.
“Well done to SoGlos on another outstanding event. This is our third year sponsoring these awards and we value the opportunity to shine a light on outstanding businesses in Gloucestershire. ”
Business at Hartpury
The sponsorship of these awards is a strong example of Hartpury’s support for the local business community. Earlier this autumn, Hartpury University was ranked in the top 20% of UK universities for its impact on ‘Local growth and regeneration’ in the third publication of Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF) results released by Research England.
There are 11 commercial businesses on Hartpury’s campus including canine hydrotherapy, equine therapy, hydrotherapy and rider performance centres, and a commercial farm. These provide students with opportunities to get involved in the day-to-day running of a business.
A new BSc (Hons) Business Management has also been introduced from 2024.
