Amanda studied MRes Anthrozoology at Hartpury and is now the Director of the Animal Welfare Agency.
"I took my postgraduate degree as a mature student, which shows it’s never too late to start a new adventure and I feel privileged to be able to devote myself to making a difference to the lives of animals.
Hartpury has opened new doors and enabled me to share my passion with like-minded and interesting people, from lecturers who have supported and encouraged me, to professionals who have inspired me.
Gaining animal investigation experience made me realize a greater need for clarity of welfare standards in animal care organisations. This led me, along with another Hartpury graduate and a team of like-minded people to establish a community interest company, the Animal Welfare Agency.
We have a clear mission to improve animal welfare standards, by providing a more effective monitoring system across the UK."
