Supporting a Hartpury University applicant

Congratulations if your young person has received an offer to study at Hartpury University!

The following information highlights the different communications your young person may receive over the next few months and how you can support them.

CTH3 2023 Induction Video Lecture

Coming to Hartpury

All of our guides are delivered via email and post. We encourage offer-holders to refer to these materials, as well as our Coming to Hartpury hub, regularly throughout the year.

When your young person receives information through the post, it’ll be clearly marked from Hartpury University. To support your young person through this journey, we recommend you encourage them to open these communications and read them thoroughly.

It should be an exciting time for them receiving an offer, but they may also feel nervous as they’re about to embark on a major step in their life. You could support them by encouraging them to talk about how they are feeling and by being interested in the information they are receiving. They may not understand some of the terminology or might really appreciate your guidance and support in keeping on top of what they need to do next.

CTH Guides 2024

Soon after receiving their official offer from our admissions team, your young person will receive their first printed publication through the post titled: You’ve made the right choice, alongside their Next Steps timeline.

In this guide they will discover more about what we have to offer across the student experience. They can explore our facilities, subjects, accolades, the local area, accommodation, and funding opportunities as the offer-holder journey begins.

The Next Steps timeline is a fold-out guide outlining on what to do and expect, from offer through to enrolment.

In June, they’ll receive their Enrolment Guide. This final guide contains everything a Hartpury University offer-holder needs to get prepared for arriving. It includes information on what to expect on arrival and their first week, moving in details, how to access kit and book lists, student support information and other FAQs.

In addition to the printed guides they receive through the post, they’ll receive regular emails, these will come from admissions@hartpury.ac.uk. If they don’t think they’ve received any emails, encourage them to email our Admissions team who can forward on anything they may have missed.

Coming to Hartpury Online Hub

We have a dedicated online hub for those holding an offer to study at Hartpury University. This hub is designed for your young person and will guide them through what to do next and the overall process, from accepting their offer through to enrolment. This is where you will find key policies and any additional information forms that you may have been asked to complete.

The hub is updated on a regular basis with information relevant to the next steps of their journey. As we head closer to them joining us in September important information on their enrolment will be uploaded here.

Applicant Day (2)

The importance of an Offer Holder Day

If your young person is successful in receiving an offer form Hartpury University, we highly recommend they attend one of our Offer Holder/Applicant Days. An Offer Holder Day is specifically tailored for students who have received an offer to study at Hartpury University, making it different from an open day, which is more general and open to all prospective students.

Offer Holder Days focus on giving more in-depth information including detailed course breakdowns, meetings with future tutors, campus tours including the opportunity to see both our on campus and off campus accommodation.

These events provide a chance to experience subject-specific sessions, engage with current students, meet future classmates and ask more focused questions about accommodation, support services, and life as a Hartpury student.
