Whether your young person has opted for our Hartpury campus halls, or our Hartpury Gloucester accommodation (Blackfriars), the change to living away from family is significant. There are many things you can help to ease this change, from helping your young person with:
Cooking - you may want to share a few recipes with them and teach your young person how to cook some simple meals.
Laundry - whether your young person stays in our Hartpury campus halls or at Blackfriars, we have dedicated laundry facilities they can use.

Assist your young person in collecting the essentials they’ll need for university. The guide below covers everything from bedroom and bathroom items to kitchen gear, helping you both ensure they have everything they need to take to university.
Graze – is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week during term time, with snacks and drinks available to purchase outside of mealtimes. There is also a shop at Graze where students can purchase snacks, drinks and basics such as milk and washing up liquid.
Costa coffee bar – located in Graze, provides a relaxed atmosphere and drink-in or take away options. There are also light snacks including sandwiches, cakes, hot paninis and freshly made pizzas.
Feed room – The Equine Arena restaurant is the perfect spot for breakfast or lunch for those students on our equine programmes.
Legends – for university students, our campus bar Legends offers bar snacks and drinks, including hot and cold drinks.

Our Students’ Union hosts a range of clubs and societies, recreational sport, activities and entertainment all year round. Your young person will automatically become a member when they enrol, joining nearly 4,000 other Hartpury students who enjoy exciting sports clubs, societies and social events.
