After you’ve attended an Offer Holder Day at Hartpury University, we could lower your academic entry requirements.
The initiative has been designed to help prospective students who demonstrate passion, exceptional achievement, and academic performance. We'll speak with any prospective students either face-to-face at one of our Offer Holder Days or on the phone prior to any Enhanced Offer being made, to ensure it's in the best interests of the student and will not adversely affect their current studies.
We consider lots of different things before making an Enhanced Offer. This includes everything a student has to offer, including experience and interests, as well as the views of their current school or college. We'll review personal statements carefully and take into account the reference and predicted grades.
We review our offer making strategy annually. Please note that Enhanced Offers will not be made to those students that have not met the GCSE requirement for the programme. Enhanced Offers will not change specific subject entry requirements and any other non-academic requirements such as work experience, Fitness for Practise, and evidence of practical competency.
When we make any offer, we make a commitment to our students. We consider anyone who has accepted an offer to be one of our students. We are confident they will achieve, and they have our full support from the point of application through their journey into Hartpury University and, naturally, when they are studying here.
Although it is not always possible to make an Enhanced Offer, we would reassure students that this is not a reflection in our confidence that they will achieve, either in their current studies or when they come to Hartpury.
No, we consider it important that you take the time that you need to consider your offers. We feel putting a time limit on the enhanced offer could risk placing additional pressure on you and therefore you have until your UCAS reply deadline (6 June 2024) to accept the enhanced offer. After this deadline if you have not accepted your enhanced offer it will remain as a standard offer.
It is important that we have assurance of your previous academic achievement so if we don’t have GCSE qualifications or equivalent results, including English and Maths, we will not be able to consider you for an enhanced offer. However, we would be happy to consider you for a standard conditional offer.
Level 3 qualifications are those that tend to be studied after GCSE. They include A Level, Advanced apprenticeship, Level 3 certificates, diplomas, T-Levels, Extended Diplomas, and technical level qualifications. Often these are studied prior to coming to higher education and as such can be used as an indicator of potential to study at university. Often offers for university are conditional of achieving certain grades in Level 3 qualifications.
We are happy to consider students studying most two-year Level 3 qualifications. However, Access and Foundation qualifications cannot be considered as they are achieved over one year and it is unlikely that we will have predicted grades. We would not have the necessary information to make an accurate assessment of your academic potential. We are happy to consider mature students with experience under our mature scheme, which will involve an interview and a written assessment if necessary.
We believe that all qualifications are important, especially Level 3 studies. Enhanced offers are only made to individuals who have already demonstrated their motivation and when we are sure it will not impact their current studies. We believe that this focus and determination to achieve is very unlikely to disappear because of an enhanced offer. We hope that the offer will give students more self-belief and confidence in their own abilities. In many subject areas, there is still the opportunity to gain an achievement-based bursary.
No, the enhanced offer is only for the current year. We are happy to consider you for a standard conditional offer that you can defer.
Your enhanced offer is based on the aptitude and evidence you have shown for a specific course. If you want to change your course we will consider your request and if we can change your course we are happy to consider you for a standard conditional offer.
You will need to make Hartpury University your firm choice. When we see this, we will make the amendments to your offer conditions.
No, all offer holders will be treated equally and in accordance with our accommodation allocation policy. Our accommodation is offered to all first-year students providing they apply by 31 August. We do not consider offer conditions when allocating accommodation.
