Level 3 Extended Diploma Equine Management (Science)

Leah Macintosh Web

Leah found her passion for veterinary medicine from her background in the equine industry. She thrived in her studies at Hartpury College studying Equine Science and has successfully secured a place to study Veterinary Medicine at University.

"From an early age, I've been striving to get into veterinary medicine and Hartpury’s role in getting me to this point in my career development has been outstanding – particularly from the ICE team, I wouldn’t be where I am, achieving my finest accomplishment, without their support.

I love practical learning and the experiments I've been privileged to conduct have been invaluable in advancing my knowledge and understanding. I researched many institutions and received multiple offers, but early-on I realised that none of my other options could top the quality of learning, facilities and industrial links that Hartpury has made available to its students.

With the bonus of studying on a beautiful campus, Hartpury has been the cornerstone of teaching me the value of work-life balance; I was able to study and work towards my goal whilst simultaneously enjoying time with my horse on site. I’ve also gained significant transferable skills, including organisation, employability and professional-communication best practices, all of which are typically quite rare to attain at college level.”
