Getting around at Hartpury is easy. You can hop on one of the public buses that stop regularly on campus. Alongside that, we offer on-campus parking for student cars and have great relationships with local taxi firms.

Hartpury College is situated in a picturesque 360-hectare campus, with easy access to the nearby cities of Gloucester and Cheltenham. Our transport options make it simple to get to and from Hartpury.

Getting to and from Hartpury College

Whether you prefer to take a bus, drive, or even cycle, Hartpury offers a range of sustainable travel options. Choose what suits you best:

  • Bus services: There are a range buses which serve Hartpury College, including our Home to College service, shuttle buses, and public buses.
  • Cycling: Bike storage available on campus for eco-friendly travel.
  • Taxis: Get an Uber or discounted student rates through Andy Cars.
  • On-campus parking: If you can drive, you can bring your car to Hartpury and park on campus.

Our Home-to-College bus service booking platform is managed by smart transportation company, Zeelo. Users can create an account via the Zeelo website, browse our routes, find your closest bus stop, check the cost, and book your annual ticket and collection point via the Zeelo website.* Your ticket will be an easy-to-access QR code on your phone, that the driver will scan when you board the bus.

If you live on campus and are looking to get into Gloucester or Cheltenham, or if you're nearby and want to get to campus, Hartpury College is served by a shuttle bus service and public bus connections.

The Stagecoach bus #351 travels from Gloucester to Tewkesbury, Monday to Saturday, and stops outside the Hartpury College campus on the main A417 outside campus.

You can also use the regular shuttle bus service between campus and Gloucester. Please note the reduced service on weekends and during the summer. The Hartpury Shuttle operates between 6.35am and 10pm on weekdays, 6.30am and 4.45pm on Saturdays and 12.15pm and 5.45pm on Sundays – each running roughly every 45 minutes – 1 hour.

There is ample free parking for Hartpury College students. Everyone must register their vehicle to park on campus. Those living on campus are issued permits for car parks near to their accommodation. Whilst those travelling on to campus can park for free in the Equine or Sports Academy car parks.

By choosing our shuttle buses or participating in our weekend coach trips, you’re helping to reduce carbon emissions—public transportation produces up to 95% less carbon dioxide per passenger compared to single-occupancy vehicles.

We also offer secure bike storage on campus for those who prefer to cycle, and we encourage carpooling among students with similar schedules. Together, we can make a positive difference and contribute to a more sustainable future.
