This course gives you the opportunity to gain detailed academic knowledge and an in-depth understanding of horse management and equitation through theory-based and practical sessions.
You'll be involved in the daily care of the horses through yard duties, including weekends which will develop the practical skills necessary to gain employment within the equine industry. You're also required to complete a period of work experience at an external placement during the course. You'll also have the opportunity to assist in the running of our commercial equine competitions. It's therefore compulsory students to live in Hartpury accommodation for the duration of the course. Successful completion of this programme will allow you to progress onto Higher Education.
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above to include English Language and Maths.
Applicants for Equitation courses will need to undertake a riding assessment as part of the application process.
Our students have gone on to some fantastic careers in a wide range of industries and enjoyed some exceptional work placements all over the world, helping them open doors to their dream careers. You’ll complete internal work experience, throughout both years, as well as an external block in your second year, to develop your skills in a workplace setting.
